Before the sleep
Then when you wake
A yawn
Before closing the lids
Then when you rub your eyes
A yawn
Before a shrill of breathe
Then when you grasp for air
A yawn
Then when you read books
Before the class bell rings
A yawn
Then when you're in a 3 hour meeting
Before it's officially Friday
A yawn
Is it interest or lack thereof?
Then when you listen to this
The quiet before the storm
A yawn

yay
Way too early to be in this state
In flux of overall misery and distaste
Before four
The hours of the wee morning got my heart feeling sore.
Typical shit I say
Before four
This is what I get for over indulging
And telling you off for the mere fact
That you didn't like the names I coined of you.
Stupid.
Ah what a waste, now I'm up yay early and way too late, with an in flux of misery and overall distaste.
I might as well have breakfast now
Gouge a spoonful of cardboard flavored oatmeal
Forge my sweet sentiment on you just so I can say have a good day and forgive me.
If they serve you pancakes at the diner, I'll make sure they don't give you strawberry.
Little things that are stupid, trivial, petty.
Shallow.
Repetitive yes, like stanza one and two and towards the middle.
But unless your girls want to meddle
There's no need to reduce this to a downgraded apology.
I'll do better so that yay early in the crack of dawn
I'll be singing those sweet sentiments
Written down in a song, my intentions are benevolent
In flux of overall misery and distaste

dear my dear
Dear my dear,
The trouble with this world
Is not entirely in the naturally
Occurring tragedies that we face
But in the lack of empathy to care
For the helpless
Creatures who have fallen down to their knees vulnerable, trembling, cold
Lonely and hurt.
The hearts of men and women can be so cruel, as to just be impartial and or even give less of a damn to the motherland
That gave them birth; it's important to recognize your worth
Dear my dear!
It takes more than honest
Intentions to fulfill the needs
Of those who are less fortunate
For the wrath of nature strikes when
It's least expected
Washing families away while they sleep.
Houses blown and hopes for survival
Is depleted.
My heart ached when I heard of the Quake
I wonder if it's really too late
If not let's come together
This is for those who believe
In recovery
Oh dear my dear!!!
It's been years and I've lost what I thought I had all along
Lately, I've seen the beauty in the brotherhood among Filipinos
And the love that's never lost
No matter how far apart they can be.
Although I haven't seen you in nearly fifteen
I kept the memory of you in my dreams
I used to bike in Circle
You taught me
How to be a boy scout
I used to fly home made paper kites with walis-ting ting sticks under the cloud
You told things I can never forget
You gave me lessons in love
In life
In trusting
In forgiving
You made me who I am and I'm proud to call myself yours
Dear my dear,
I'm trying to come down on an unfamiliar path
With no light to see what's ahead
I move forward to help you with no regrets
Will you take my hand at this chance?
On the road to recovery
There will be hope at last.
Love,
-Francis M.

sip
tightly gripping its
jacket and i wait
i stroke the rim with
a stirrer until
its scorching touch
its burning feel
has gone away
i step outside to
take a drag a puff
a flick then a step
and scrape off the ash
its scorching touch
its burning feel

You
Top five things to say daily, using the word YOU:
1. Hey you (To initiate conversation with someone)
2. How are you? (To seek understanding of someone)
3. Thank you (To show appreciation and admiration for someone)
4. I love you (To express adoration and emotion towards someone)
5. Excuse you (Strictly for use in a respectful manner when indifferent with someone)

Red Nose
You might have laughed at one of my jokes
Gut busting or with a grin
Cheered you up and squeezed my red nose
I do it again and again.
I seek to pleasure, and I aim to please.
Did anything for a smile, did anything for a cheese.
With this mask of dry and white
I hope to give you brighter days into the night.

Man On the Moon
I came up with an idea for a tv show
It'll be a Saturday morning thing
I can goof around with the kids
But
I'll be going to the Philippines
There lies a miracle
How will you say goodbye when I'm gone?
I laughed for the last time
My lips frail and cold
Over the white screen, I sing:
"Why should any heart be lonely?"
Over the casket
The black and white reel fades
There's something quite divine
when you place your hand on mine
I guess the very last thing you can say is you're welcome
Because after the last smile, after the last kiss, after the last "I love you"
Nothing else is left to say but
Thank you
